Shaw resigns at Stanford

My first thought when I read the article was, "It sure feels like he has been the head coach longer than twelve seasons and he is only fifty-years old!?!"

ALWAYS a class act.

He and his wife are so invested in that community and Stanford...hard for me to picture him elsewhere.

As for the football program...they are at a VERY CHALLENGING intersection between the transfer portal, NIL, their academic requirements and how the game is played now...as evidenced by these past few years.

While Cal is not fully invested in their football program and athletics in general, Stanford is so it is going to be an interesting coaching hire.

Re: Shaw resigns at Stanford

I really wonder if Stanford will drop football. In this new era of NIL and transfer portal, do they want to lower their standards for transfers and pay the players? I suppose they'll continue, but I wonder for how long.
