Bowl Destination?

With U$C losing, the bowl situation seems chaotic right now, so I'm wondering where your preference lies. I prefer the Holiday Bowl. Ducks have not fared well in the Vegas Bowl, plus it falls on the 17th of this month, which is just after the ESD, and in the middle of the portal. In the future, with a 12 team playoff, I'm thinking the bowls need to be addressed. If they are going to stick around, some dates need to be changed, imo.
So who wants to go where?

well, hey . . .

Ducks & Irish in Diego would be worth actually getting on an airplane, Covid or no. the kind of marquee matchup that TV loves.
read some projections this morning, after Tommy's fail in LV last night; Utes to Rose (for certain) and then SC to Cotton v non-P5 rep. but . . . with TCU's loss to K-State in OT, gotta think TCU is the fit for the Cotton Bowl. so does the P12 get shut out of a 2nd NY6 bowl? could 11-2 SC land in the Orange or Sugar? or does everbody in the conf slide down one?

Re: Bowl Destination?

I've heard that UW could be selected for a NY6?

I haven't studied all the Bowl possibilities and tie-ins, but an Oregon/Notre Dame matchup would be freaking sweet!!!!

It doesn't matter which Bowl we go to. I will be looking forward to it and cheering them on. Just hope it's a good opponent. Even meaningless Bowl games have benefits for a football team with extra practices and all.

Re: Bowl Destination?

Wilner has a column on just that...if he is accurate, there are 2 key issues...

1) Does USC tumble out of the New Year's Six? If so all other Pac-12 teams drop a level or two(see last paragraph of his column). Not good.

2) Does Oregon State get picked ahead of Oregon?

I can only speak for myself but as Wilner notes, USC in the Cotton Bowl means a $4 million payout to the Pac-12...otherwise no other Pac-12 team will be in a New Years Six game and no $4 million....so I am all in favor of USC getting into that game.

Also as per the Las Vegas Bowl...held at Allegiant Stadium where the Ducks should have played last night and for the first time in 22-years it will feature a Pac-12 vs SEC game. If we have to play in a meaningless bowl game it might as well be against an SEC opponent.
