I saw the headline; was about to ignore it...but instead read it anyway...learned some things far more important than the depth chart for the Holiday Bowl...
1) NCAA has issued a waiver so anyone who plays in the bowl game will NOT have it count against the 4 game / eligibility rule👍
2) Bo Nix and 13 other Oregon players(not named) are, by their status, automatically entered into the NFL Draft and have until MID-JANUARY to opt out and return for their senior seasons.
Three thoughts...
+I sure hope Nix makes a decision LONG BEFORE mid-January🙏
+With 15 Oregon players already having left, that is a lot players who could still do so as well.
+This is a perfect example of how ridiculous the timeline is now for recruiting...high school kids and the Transfer Portal.
Why would you have an early signing date a month BEFORE the deadline players have to opt out for the NFL Draft and / or enter the Transfer Portal???
Doesn't the original signing date in early February make more sense for both players and coaches? Then the ONLY roster impact time frame remaining are the first two-weeks in May when the Transfer Portal reopens following Spring Camp... remembering that in some cases, players entering it are doing so at the suggestion of the head coach.

The calendar has to change. Too much going on in a short window right now. I like the idea of a kid being able to sign an LOI at any time during their senior season, and then eliminate ESD and just use the traditional Feb date. You know coaches will be moving around, but most of that is over by mid Jan. Something has to change.

Been reading y'alls discussions about this issue and I agree with everyone.
Somehow the madness has to stop. I don't understand who actually benefits from all this,
