I am GUESSING after 8 years of coaching in college; followed by 2 in the NFL before coming to Oregon...perhaps he realized he preferred coaching in the NFL over college...especially under a coach and team he played with previously... Belichick / Patriots.
At Oregon Klemm was the Associate Head Coach / Run Game Coordinator / Offensive Line Coach...geez that is a lot of job titles!
I don't think he was interested in the OC position at Oregon BUT maybe the departure of Dillingham and / or the hiring of Stein coupled with an NFL opportunity fueled his departure for whatever reason(s)?

And this just after Lanning said he didn't anticipate any more coaching departures.?
