Richardson nearly leads Stanford to upset of Oregon?!

As only Will Richardson can do, he nearly found a way to help Stanford beat Oregon with a dazzling aray of self-centered basketball in the last few minutes.

When Richardsin doesn't have the ball the Oregon offense has a lot of motion. As soon as he gets the ball everyone stops because they know they are going to watch him stay in one place while he puts on a mesmerizing exhibition of dribbling between his legs while doing absolutely nothing except bleed time off the clock.

It started with a missed 3-point shot with 3 minutes remaining and the Ducks up 68-64.

Stanford's next possession ended with a block by Dante; Richardson scoops up the ball and instead of getting to the middle to create better passing lanes and spread the floor; Richardson decides to come down the side and then angle in from the right...eventually drawing a foul in a congested area...he then misses the front end of a one and one.

Next possession for Oregon has Richardson dribbling ad nauseam until he is too close to get a good shot and it looked to be a partial block / miss.

Stanford now trailing by 6 at 72-66 after 2 made free throws by Oregon's Cousinard...comes down the floor with 25 seconds remaining and shoots up a 3 pointer which misses BUT Richardson, the senior, team leader, etc. with the 4th seed in the upcoming Pac-12 Tournament on the line, fouls the Stanford player who gets 3 free throws.

The replay showed Richardson could not have been any more stupid with the foul as the Stanford player went straight up while Richardson jumped diagonally right into him.

Thankfully he only made 2 of the 3 FT's and Oregon was able to close out the win over Stanford and Richardson.

He of course took the most shots of any Oregon player at 4-11 and 1-3; was in the game for the most minutes(37 out of 40) of any Oregon player yet finished third in scoring with 10 points...only 1 more than Guerrier who played only 21 minutes.

I have no idea what Altman is going to do next year without his obvious obsession and favoritism with Richardson is no longer an option.
