Read an interesting article in the Athletic about what USC might need to do to improve their defense and immediately wondered if it might apply to Oregon as well?
Specifically to the copy / paste below...
"All programs hit in preseason camp. It helps acclimatize players and gets their bodies ready for the season ahead. But programs such as Alabama, Georgia and Michigan have more full-contact practices throughout the season than others. Why? Because their head coaches believe the best way to practice tackling is to tackle. They don’t hit gratuitously; in 2023, all major programs evaluate player workload to ensure they aren’t wearing out their players during practice. But Saban, Smart and Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh are among the coaches who believe regular contact readies the body for the contact it will receive on Saturday. Some teams regress in terms of tackling as the season progresses. These coaches’ teams don’t. Because they work on it more than others."
