2 more areas to what is written

1) Special Teams...not sure why Crepea didn't include it?

2) Game, clock, field position and roster management by the head coach in close and competitive games.

Last season's 10-3 felt a little empty at the end with missed opportunities for Pac-12 Championship Game(and possibly the Playoffs) due to losing to the uw🤮 and osu🤮

Personnel on the field in those 2 games were not the main reason for the losses.

Interesting how you go 8-1; then the head coach makes a series of highly questionable decisions in 3 consecutive competitive and close games(uw, Utah and osu); winning 1 and losing 2...so now the roster needs an overhaul.

Re: 2 more areas to what is written

Crepea is stretched way too thin; he's asked to produce a lot of copy, and his work is uneven because of it. he's also laboring under an inability to develop long-term sources within the UO AD. part of that is the turnover in staff, and part is the after-effect of misbehavior by a recently terminated O-Live employee.

on the whole, this is a decent analysis. he does mention special-teams issues early on. but he waits until about 15 paras deep to note that UO played against some damn good QBs last year, w/o consistent pressure off the edge (and w/o Gonzalez for the 2nd half of the UW game). and will again this year.

Ducks lost v UW and OS because the offense failed to finish opportunities in the red zone w TDs. my biggest gripe about Dilly all year. relied too much on Nix running the ball and didn't develop an array of situational plays that kept a defense guessing. (it was refreshing to see Nix finally throw the ball past the chains on a 3rd or 4th down with under two minutes left in the 13th game of the season--guess Dilly was already in Tempe by then.)

Lanning & staff have done a good job addressing glaring needs through the transfer portal. I'm concerned about our TE room; Matavao and McCormick t'd out, Ferguson dinged, and Patrick Herbs has a history of injury. also inside backers; Sewell to NFL, Flowe & Brown t'd out. Jestin Jacobs is thought by some to be a potential first-round draft choice, but he looks a bit small to me.

lots of enthusiasm building around the program for this season. Ducks will have a very good team. so will 5-6 of our scheduled opponents. what more could we ask for?
