6-foot-8 and 365-pounds! Jeez, that’s some serious perspective back in the day “The Refrigerator” William Perry was 6’2” 335 and huge by NFL standards. It looks like he can play and it’s not just his size.
One thing though is he was supposedly told he can come right in and play. I know a lot of teams will say such to get a recruit. It’s sets up a slippery slope to the portal if the player needs a year to learn and develop.

With the transfer portal, I find myself not caring about individual recruits much anymore.
Half these guys may never even suit up for Oregon. I just pay attention to the overall quantity of talent that we are getting at Oregon. And you have to admit, it's stellar. Lanning is really hitting on all cylinders with his recruiting.
Let's just hope these guys love Oregon when they get here and want to stick around a few years,

It is now all about roster management...additions(recruiting and TP) and subtractions(TP). The ability to "recruit" your own roster to remain is critical...or at least those players you want to retain.
Cristobal had these recruiting team rankings(Rivals) at Oregon: 13,7,9,3 for 2018-2021.
Playoffs?
Texas A&M had the #1 team recruiting rankings (Rivals) for the Class of 2022 and many people consider that program a mess.
Georgia won a National Championship with a walk-on QB.
Lanning's first year compared to Cristobal's last year was essentially a draw.
DL won a bowl game but lost to the uw and osu. Record: 10-3
MC beat the luckeyes; uw and osu; played for the Pac-12 Championship but lost badly. Oregon also lost their bowl game but MC was already gone to Miami. Record: 10-4
Both were 7-2 in Conference games and both had their teams in "Playoff discussions" but choked badly.
Neither coach developed a backup QB.
Transfer Portal acquisitions and recruiting can be spun lots of different ways but ultimately it will come down to COACHING.
