I am a little surprised to see Chip at #3 but otherwise NEW coaches that make a big W-L improvement from the previous year are usually going to get recognition.
I think Whittingham deserves the #1 ranking BUT I am not convinced he can take the team to a higher level.
Regardless, the top half of the Pac-12 is going to be very tough with good head coach / QB combinations.
You can take those 6 and shuffle them around over and over and make convincing arguments for whatever the order might be.
This may be one of the most competitive seasons in quite some time.

Chip seemed a little high to me as well.
I'm also with you on Whittingham deserving of the 1st spot. LR's a great coach on the offensive side of the ball, but they lost to the Utes twice including the end of the season and then laid an egg dropping a bowl game. LR needs to win big games at the end of the year to be considered the top of the Pac or I guess B1G moving forward. He certainly deserves credit for turning around USC and all it's just he still has more to prove that he's not just a really good recruiter and offensive coach that has a game plan that only works against non top tier programs during the regular season.
The next couple of years will be big for DL in determining what type of coach he can be. He certainly recruits well and he's not the micromanager, which we all criticized Mario for. The verdict is still out if he can be a good X's and O's type coach and if he can put the right coordinators in place.
This should definitely be fun year to watch the Pac. Especially with several Heisman candidates including Bo.

Lanning is a mystery, still.

It is interesting how DL goes after elite high school talent across the board but doesn't seem to apply the same standard to assistant coaches he hires?
Maybe that explains why he feels it necessary to have 2 Co-DC's and 2 Co-OC's?

I noticed you did not include Lincoln Riley....if you drink the Kool Aid spewed by the folks in SC, the Trojans will vie for the national championship!! Bwahaha! The Heisman to Williams was a token gift to make USC somehow relevant again. Some team from Athens, Georgia would destroy the Trojans. As a parting gift, USC will lose the PAC12 championship to the Ducks! The opinionated media have SC ahead of the Ducks in the 2024 class yet others have the Ducks ahead. Who do you believe? Can't wait for the matchup at Autzen! GO DUCKS!
