The Pac-12 has perhaps the polar opposites of any 2 new head coaches in the country in terms of how they are trying to rebuild the programs at Stanford with Taylor and Colorado with Sanders.
My comments are not an indictment of either...what Sanders has done at a program which went 1-11 last year is nothing short of amazing in terms of fan and alumni excitement...sold out Folsom Field of over 47,000 for the Spring Game in COLD weather and ditto on season tickets.
Meanwhile Taylor will be trying to implement his high powered offense at a school rich in "power football" traditions with LIMITED opportunities in the Transfer Portal.
If you like a football program being built the proverbial "old fashion way" then Stanford is a team to watch.
Anyway this is a interesting read on Taylor who is not some young and upcoming star per se...he is 55-years old!
As the article notes, one year his high school team never punted the ball even once during the entire season!
Sanders has the players(athletic) to make an impact probably more quickly of the two and especially with Stanford not even having 85 scholarship players...but I would not underestimate Taylor...Stanford has never been "athletic" as a team but they are intelligent and while at some point you need players to make plays, Taylor himself has energized the program too.
While neither team will win the Pac-12 this year they could be a spoiler along the way for others.

Stanford is definitely hampered by all the changes in CFB, but Taylor sounds like a very good hire for them. Sanders will win more games than last year at Colorado just based on the talent upgrade. I guess we'll see...good article!
