Canzano back to Stirring the Pot

I tuned in see what Canzano has to say about the media deal:

-He says the conference all hinges on Oregon. In addition he says the Huskies will do whatever Oregon does.

-He's continues to make out the Pac offer as not that bad.

-His belief is that the Ducks want to stay in the Pac and wants to know AZ is in.

For one I find it hard to believe the Huskies are just sitting back and letting Oregon decide everything. Cazano is setting up the Ducks as the fall team if they leave, which seems likely to me. It will play well with his Beavers crowd. His daughter attends OSU and I think he likes to whoo that crowd.

Maybe he's right about the Ducks wanting to stay, I find it hard to believe though. Whatever the case is the Pac collapse is not on the Ducks. It started with the LA schools and more importantly the longtime poor leadership.

Re: Canzano back to Stirring the Pot

The only way the Ducks could stay in the PAC is if PK were to make up the difference in money for several years. Plus, what teams would get into the PAC? It would be a glorified Mt. West. Given the horrendous leadership decisions over the years, I guess nothing would surprise me at this point, but remember Canzano has a stake in the PAC staying together, as does Wilner.

Never been a fan of the Clown. I don't trust the guy as far as I can throw him.

I've listened to his show the last two days. On each day he has stated that Oregon won't be able to compete in the Big10. Chew on that for a moment.

Re: Canzano back to Stirring the Pot

I'll just get out in front and say if Oregon goes to Big10 I'll not be a happy camper.

I'd rather Oregon stay in a West coast conference and be the king of the heap. Money be damned.

It's another nail in the coffin for college sports and my passion for it.

Sorry for being such a curmudgeon fellas.

Re: Canzano back to Stirring the Pot

1) I believe the narrative that Oregon thinks its best chance to make the Playoffs is to remain in the Pac-12...I don't think Oregon WANTS to go to the Little Ten at all.

2) Likewise I find it almost amusing at how many Oregon fans think a move to the Little Ten would be a good one!

It is all but a given they(Little Ten)will give the school from Eugene, Oregon and it's small stadium a reduced share of the revenue while simultaneously sabotaging the scheduling. Oregon has beaten the luckeyes ONCE in school history but suddenly the Ducks will go into "their" conference, culture and history and win big in football😂😂😂 Not happening.

3) Playing in the snow and ice against Wisconsin or Rutgers or Indiana in November...oh boy I can hardly wait to watch that game on TV and count on one hand the number of Oregon fans who traveled to the game.

Re: Canzano back to Stirring the Pot

Canzano on the Dan Patrick Show...I actually think he is accurate in most of what he says.

Oregon IS a key factor in what could happen to the Pac-12...besides Washington what other school has the influence of Oregon?

Duck fans cannot have it both ways...enjoy the benefits of what PK has done for the school and then act shocked when those benefits fuel a narrative that Oregon is the biggest influencer in the Pac-12.

I'd rather be Oregon than osu, WSU, Cal....

However Oregon is NOT the reason the Pac-12 is where it is today.

Re: Canzano back to Stirring the Pot

If the PAC continues to exist with the new watered down version, it will cease to be one of the Power Five. The playoffs are influenced by the big boy conferences and they'll somehow change the playoffs to their advantage saying the best teams are being left out. I witnessed the 2017 undefeated season UCF (AAC not ACC) had yet did not even get a sniff of the playoffs. They were coached by Scott Frost.  TCU got their butts kicked by Georgia 65-7 in the Championship game which will be noted even though they are in the BIG12, supposedly one of the Power 5 conferences.

Another issue as I stated before, the Ducks are going to have a hard time recruiting in CA and across the country if they don't join the BIG10. High schoolers are going to go to the conference with the most exposure and the biggest bucks. That would be USC and UCLA on the west coast. For that reason, BIG10 is their only option.
