Re: QUACK!!!

LA schools were good to play the B1G against the PAC in recruiting, until they could not.  Think this pitch was why the 5* QB from LY's recruiting cycle flipped from UO to UCLA- a chance to play in front of friends and family in the Midwest while living it up in LA on NIL cash.

Re: QUACK!!!

I think he flipped to UCLA only after Bo Nix committed to returning for one more year. Had Bo moved on, I think he would have stayed committed to UO. He expressed his desire to be the starter and UCLA's starting quarterback moved on to the NFL giving him that opportunity.

The internet is alive with resentment by SC and their fans for having Oregon join the BIG12. Word is they requested no other PAC teams be allowed to join the BIG12 because of the fierce recruiting competition from UO for Southern Cal players. Bwahaha! Here we are! Deal with it!

Re: QUACK!!!

It remains to be seen to what level recruiting will be impacted by the all these teams going to different conferences.

I don't think it is a guarantee at all that SoCal recruits for any sport will continue at the same rate of going to USC, UCLA, Oregon and the UW...so they can play games 2 time zones away at the minimum.

Plus all this chatter about "big games"(see Michigan, the luckeyes and sorta Penn State(when has James Franklin won a "big game?) and Michigan State ignores all the mediocre to bad teams in the BIG...as are the MAJORITY of teams in EVERY conference.

How many people want to travel to Wisconsin in November?

Which is also a key point...family members want to see their sons and daughters compete and traveling to and from non-west coast games will be expensive among other issues.

I can see SoCal kids opting for a "quick drive" to Arizona schools to play in the Big 12 as one example.

Oregon has recruited well in Arizona...so how many Arizona recruits now want to come to Oregon to play against Maryland?

Now that doesn't mean it will be poor recruiting for Oregon, etc. BUT it may mean a different type of recruit.

I do think after the season the Transfer Portal will be full of athletes from every sport from all the former Pac-12 schools.
