Liberty Biberty?????????

Wow. What a lose-lose situation.

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

Playing Liberty is a let down for sure. I had seen some projections about Penn State. Of course, the Fiesta Bowl has a huge payout, so that's a plus. I wonder how sharing will work in the PAC.
One thing to consider is who will opt out. If Bo doesn't play, this might be a tough game.

Exactly. Thompson looks better, but not so much so that a win is a sure thing.

These days, you never know how much the reluctance to answer the Will you play in the bowl game? question is a way to bargain for more money.

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

Bo says he will play in the Bowl game. Very good news for us.

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

A bowl game is a "reward" for regular season play.

To have the runner-up in the Pac-12 and #8 ranked team in the country play a Conference USA team is 💩 and not a reward in any context.

Oregon has NOTHING to gain playing this game.

I won't be surprised or begrudge him(and others) if Nix changes his mind and decides not to play.

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

every year one NY6 bowl has to eat the best non-P5 team, and this season it's Fiesta. was looking like Tulane for a long while until the Green Wave upchucked against SMU.
I too was hopeful for Penn State in the Cotton or Mizzou in the Orange or Peach, but not to be. Duck fans will travel, show up, and fill the saloons, restaurants, and golf courses.

I would rather Bo opt out. give Ty the keys for four quarters with the 1st team and see what he can do. but good on Bo for being a team guy.

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

What a bitter disappointment!

Why the hell does Oregon get relegated to playing Liberty? Meanwhile Missouri, Penn State and Ole Miss (all ranked below us) get sweet NY6 matchups?? Is there any doubt now that Ducks would have been left out of CFP even if we did beat the Mutts??

I'm shocked that Bo is going to play in this game. But it puts a huge smile on my face. There are just not that many character guys left in this world. I'm thankful that Bo is one, and that he is a DUCK!!

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

Liberty didn't play a single P5 school.

Arizona plays Oklahoma; OSU plays Notre Dame; even lousy USC plays ACC runner-up Louisville...and Oregon plays...Liberty😡🤬

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

It's truly amazing to watch Lanning put on a brave face for this matchup. Guess that's his job and why he makes the big bucks.

This is a cruel joke to end what was a pretty special year for Oregon and Bo Nix.

This is the college football world giving a huge middle finger to the Ducks. I didn't think I could feel worse after losing the conference championship. But this feels like having our nose shoved in shit and being laughed at.

Re: Liberty Biberty?????????

This is an exhibitions game. Something on the lines of the YouTuber Jake Paul boxing a UFC fighter.

I was expecting a team like Ohio State.

It's been a rough weekend for Ducks fans.

This. I do, however think they also want to stick it to lower-tier conference teams who whine about not being highly ranked. Something USC failed to do last year. It really is a no-win situation.

Yes, but you could be a FSU fan …..

Indeed, my biggest fear was beating UW and missing out to Bama and Texas. That would have been a bigger loss.

I'm shocked that Bo is going to play in this game. But it puts a huge smile on my face. There are just not that many character guys left in this world. I'm thankful that Bo is one, and that he is a DUCK!

I’m not so much, Bo is a standup guy. One of the standup-iest. He will go out as a class act. And that should help his NFL bid.

A bit of a pisser, but LibertyBiberty is unbeaten and conf (yes I know lesser) champ. I’m still bruised by our loss. 😭

At this point, Fiesta Bowl is still a big game.  Don't care who the opponent is, get the win, plant the bowl marker on the "ramp of winners" (or whatever it's called) and move on to setting up for next year.
