This article is behind a paywall. I can't access it on my computer but did so with the Ducks Basketball app on my phone.
This is very good news. I felt the basketball program slipped a bit when he left. He could be the glue that keeps everything together. I also think he rejoined the Ducks as they head into the B1G conference. From what I have read Kwame Evans Jr. will probably stay with Oregon while Kario Oquendo will not. He had some defensive issues which does not bode well for a player playing under Coach Altman. All in all this is a nice way to start the day. Go Ducks!

Have to wonder if there is a succession plan in place here...?

like Jeff, my thoughts exactly.
Stubblefield would be well received by the UO community and fan-base as heir apparent when Dana decides to retire or leave. would also be a kind of guarantee of continuity to HS recruits and transfers.
mos def good news for Oregon MBB. look for the Ducks to start landing some verbal commits from high schoolers and newsworthy portal transfers.
don't know if anybody can view WaPo or get a freebie, but here's a piece by columnist Sally Jenkins (daughter of the late, semi-tough ol' Pardsie Pard his ownself, Dan). says that U of Kentucky men's basketball should hire S Carolina WBB head coach Dawn Staley as its new MBB HC. and it makes a helluva lotta sense.

I hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense. Dana turns 66 in June, Tony turned 54 in March. Dana hasn't liked the PAC-12 breakup and I'm wondering how many years he wants to fly across country for games. I'm guessing he will coach for a few years and depending on how the Ducks play and his health will undoubtedly play a part in it.

Ummmmm......
You guys know Stubblefield went 28-54 in 3 years at DePaul right?
I like Stubbs as an assistant, but if Oregon can't aim higher than Stubbs as our next head coach, this program is in even worse shape than I thought..

DePaul hasn't been the same since the Meyer days and does not possess the resources that Oregon has in terms of attracting talent. That said, I never followed his teams and thus don't know his X's and O's, so I can't necessarily push back on the fact that his record stunk as a HC. Cristobal was hired as the HC with a terrible career record and... well, never mind...

DOH! lol
Interesting side note: Over 3,000 guys currently in portal and Dana has yet to land a single one!
Concerning?
