Re: Super Regionals

MY GOD!!

I don't follow Duck Baseball, which is weird since I'm a pretty big MLB guy.

But watching those two games just summed it up, I guess.  College Baseball is really a joke. A 10-0 lead means nothing. Coach Waz, to my eyes, is a fucking joke! Allowing a pitcher to throw ball after ball after ball after walk after walk after hit batter after walk after ball after ball after walk, walk, walk, walk,...........AND NOT EVEN PULLING THE FUCKING PITCHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guy is a clown don't care what anyone says.

Really wish Oregon would have kept Wrestling and saved the U of O untold millions on this trash!!

Re: Super Regionals

I gotta apologize for the diatribe.

Sometimes I get cranky waiting for football season lol.

Coach has done well with the program since he took over for Horton. An obvious upgrade. I went too far with the negative.

But still sticking to my guns that it was managerial malpractice. Hopefully he........learns???

Re: Super Regionals

The team lost a ton of arms thru the course of the season and it caught up with them.  For the most part, the bats and base running and defense were solid all year and masked over the pitching deficiencies as the post season unfolded.  My guess is that Waz took the lumps with the terrible inning and told the offense to get it back like they normally do.  Clearly A&M was the better team overall and props to both squads for making the Supers.

Could be where an issue exists in the sports conditioning aspect that contributed to the injuries?  I'm not smart enough nor passionate enough about the program to pursue, just tossing it out there...

Re: Super Regionals

I don't follow Duck baseball like football or basketball but still found it disappointing that way they lost the last game, or rather one inning.  I did a little research and these are the results.  The NCAA limits teams to 27 players for the playoffs.  The Ducks had a 40 man roster for the regular season, although all players did not see the field this season.  I'm listing the pitchers and innings pitched.
R J Gordon            95
Kevin Seitter          82
Grayson Grinsell    79
Logan Mercado      44
Ryan Fetherstone   41
Bradley Mullen        38
Brock Moore           31
Ian Umlandt            30
Michael Freund      24
Collin Clarke          20
Toby Twist              16
Turner Spoljaric      13
Cole Stokes              9
Matthew Grabmann  5
Jaxson Jordan          5
Sammy Cova            2
Mason Goodson       2
Austin Anderson, Finn Chapman, Dylan McShane, Jackson Pace and Leo Uelmen did not play any games.
The last game Oregon played a total of 18 players, five of which were pitchers.  Duck pitchers issued 9 walks.  Texas A&M used 7 pitchers and gave up only 3 walks.  It's hard to understand why so many Duck pitchers were injured and couldn't be used in the last game.  Maybe they have the same string of bad luck that the basketball team has had over the course of the last three years!  And everything starts brand new this next season in the B1G.  Go Ducks!

Re: Super Regionals

Good points all.

But I was thinking even the bat boy could come in and throw a strike or two lol.

It was do or die. Elimination game. No tomorrow. And there was not one warm body in the pen that could throw a strike?? I mean at that point you HAVE to go with the game 3 starter even if it is the ONLY option left.
