Ducks vs. UCLA

In another familiar foe tonight in UCLA. Pick up some more coffee if you're at the store today! 8PM, for the East Coast crowd more of this game will be technically on Sunday. Does the B1G have a name like the "after dark" Pace-12 or "after bedtime" as we called it? On a personal level I'm on the road on a family vacation in Bend today and was actually wanting a late kick.

Speaking of the game being in the dark the fans are left in dark every week with the TV situation and late notice. I didn't realize that the B!G media deal only gives 6 day notices on kickoff time and was expecting the nearly 2 weeks we're accustomed to. Luckily the game is on FOX this week, which is a good thing considering that I believe Comcast is still holding out against the B!G network?

Latest Injury Report:  https://www.si.com/college/oregon/football/oregon-ducks-ucla-bruins-injury-update-matthew-bedford-gary-bryant-jr-jahlil-florence-dillon-gabriel-dan-lanning#:~:text=Senior%20kicker%20Andrew%20Boyle%3A%20Missed,3%2C%20no%20timetable%20for%20return.
To note Jahlil Florence and Beford are still out. If you didn't see Bedford got dinged up practicing. Freshman linebacker Ashton Porter was back at practice after being out for personal reasons.

The Ducks are favored by more than 3 touchdowns. I guess UCLA looked horrible in their opener, but they did cover against LSU last week. They do have a seasoned QB in Garbers. Apperently they are trying to be a pass heavy team and don't have much of a run game, which hypethecilly should be easy to the Ducks D to stop. It seems like it's more about the Ducks playing like they did against the Beavs instead of what they did the first 2 games.

Go Ducks!!!

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

Foster is the guy who took the job after the 11th hour, not hating on him for his lack of polish and inexperience.  Seems like a good dude, just not the CEO of a program yet.

Garbers is a baller.  He will take shot after shot and keep slinging because he is the offense.  Keep hitting him and wearing down their line and maybe we can DVR the second half for tomorrow’s pleasure.  I’ll be up the whole time being a local…

See you guys here after kickoff, enjoy the sunny day!

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

Rain delay for the Colorado-UCF game on Fox. MLB game after that. There’s a 7-8 PM Chicago P.D. buffer between MLB and the Duck game - hope that’s enough.

I totally forgot about Addison still playing for UCLA.

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

A nice looking start for DB and the O-line. The play calling was pretty good too.

I never would’ve guessed that Helfrich would be announcing games for Fox. He’s okay, but I couldn’t imagine him ever on an NFL game or even announcing a time college game. I wonder how he’s perceived nationally?

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

That pass interference call seemed pretty ticky tacky on the first drive.

Agreed. Ball was beyond catchable. We’ll see if they call them close on both sides.

Yeah, I was wondering if they were trying to “set the tone” early or something.

DB has great ball placement especially when he has some time.

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

Nice score after that Boettcher pic.

Ref’s are throwing flags all over the field.

For sure, I’m not super impressed with B1G referees so far. They’re still better than the Pac referees at least. One thing that got me with the pac is how long they took to talk to each other. Made you wonder if they were arguing about what they want on their pizza after the game or something!

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

Birch steps up with a TFL and sack in back to back plays.

Boettcher and Birch = wrecking crew.
