Pretty much all sports are being cancelled right now. I just saw that even football recruiting trips are officially banned now. The only possible sporting I've seen that might go on is a boxing from Top Rank. It will be without fans that could be cancelled anytime though.
I like to try to have a take lemons and make lemonade approach to things. Hence this is why I started the forum when comments were banned. Perhaps we could find a great Ducks game from the past online and watch it together at the same time and comment?

we were looking at tics for the Olympic Trials at new Hayward end of June. that's probably off, too, unless things stabilize in the next month. Tokyo Olympics looking doubtful as well.
at least it's nice to be going into this indeterminate hiatus sitting atop a Rose Bowl W, and the P-12 men's and women's b-ball crowns.

This is a huge bummer, but the right thing to do at this time. Given the NBA situation, I'm not surprised. Hate to see the trials in jeopardy.

REALLY bummed about Sabrina and women's hoops. I honestly thought the Ducks had good shot at the title and adding another NC to the trophy case. One could see it coming over the past couple of days; and it will take a few more for me to get passed being pissed. I suppose an abundance of caution is the right thing to do.
The wife and I had about a month of "sports stuff" planned, on TV and in Oregon and here in AZ: regional in Portland, Spring Training (only made it to a Cubbies game), Coyotes hockey, and Duck games up the road in Tempe. Fingers crossed for a John Fogerty concert Sunday at Talking Stick Resort.
Still a great time to be a Duck!

I am optimistic the crisis will peak soon and get better. But anything is possible.
I don't know about Asia and the Olympics. I hope they are held, but my luck with them might not be good. The last US trials I went to were the ones for the 1980 Moscow Olympics, which we later boycotted. My brother-in-law worked as an intern for the SID at the time and got us tix. They were on the finish line. But we were next to BB coach Jim Haney My brother-in-law went on to 20+ years for the NFL and MLB. On the cancellation of things, he texted yesterday, "It takes a lot for sports owners to say no to the money." LOL

It sure is a good time to be a Duck!
I sure hope you make the Fogerty concert. I haven't seen him, but would certainly like to.
Like you say things will turn for the better and we can go back to watching and attending Ducks games in person.

Disappointed for all of these athletes, but the UO women's team in particular was poised for a special run. Damn!
Called Ed Smith Stadium yesterday and, sure enough, today's Orioles game was canceled. We have school for the kids as of now on Monday, but that is all very fluid. My employer told me to prepare to teach my classes online this summer. All twelve universities in Florida have officially gone that route...
Surreal. Reminds me of the early portions of The Stand...

Yes, special. And by that I really felt they were going to win it all. They had been getting better each game since the ASU game to the point where it seemed like there was no stopping them.

I absolutely agree. This was a very special team, with some very special players. This run has been amazing to watch, and tho I'll follow them in the WNBA, it's not going to be the same. It's going to be tough to adjust to life without sports: really hoping they can get this stinking virus under control.

I see in the poll that S. Carolina is #1 with 21 or 27 first-place votes, Ducks #2 with 5 first-place votes. How about those two meet in a gym and settle it? Include the next two if you like. Make it PPV. Think Sabrina and the rest of the Ducks would thrive in that environment? I do.
I'm sorry, I just think it might be stupid to have not national champions this year. Figure out an abbreviated process

A serious re-make of The Stand as a mini-series is well overdue... The ABC series was good in its time, though...

I've seen people alluding to that, but I've never seen it, nor do I know anything about it.

Stephen King novel about a superflu virus that wipes out the human race at large. The survivors pitted on two sides with a final showdown (the Stand) happening after a billion pages of reading...
