Sounds like another classic Iowa team that's having a good year.
Like a typical Iowa team they run the ball for short yardage and don't air it out much. .The transfer quarterback #11 QB Gronowski was really good at Dakota State for 4 years and is now a game manager that mainly throws check downs. Their second RB Patterson is putting up better numbers than their primary RB Moulton. He's been hurt, but their coach said he should be a go.
For as good as their defense is they don't get in the backfield a lot and play conservative by trying to take away big plays. From other articles I read a lot about how good Iowa's run defense is. This article points out some strategies that Wisconsin and PSU did that had great success. The Ducks have a great running game they need to utilize. Will they need to air the ball out to get the run game going? I'm just really hoping the offense doesn't come out passing behind the line of scrimmage to have a bunch of their and longs and needing to go for fourth downs.
