Interesting QBR analytics about Herbert vs Tua

Seth Walder posted this on ESPN...it is strictly about the QBR for an entire season...

https://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-41093818-4

"Tua Tagovailoa recorded two of the six best college QBR seasons in the history of the metric (since 2004). Justin Herbert's best season on this list ranks 131st. His 2019 season ranks 266th."

I am certain you can get a different perspective from every head coach and GM in the NFL on how important these analytics are and the value they place in them.

The fact Khalil Tate ranks 9th for his 2017 season speaks volumes on how it is not just stats which matter. Winning games? Leadership? I have to believe coaches ask, "Can we coach this guy up to the next level?"

GO DUCKS!

Re: Interesting QBR analytics about Herbert vs Tua

Watched a couple of ESPN repeat shows yesterday on the draft in general and QBs in particular. They pretty much had JH #5 and Tua #6.
One guy said Justin had “little” around him, and he “carried” the team to P12 and RB championships. I loved JH this past season, but it was coaching, imo, that held him back. There wasn’t a lot of help on the offense, but while he had a huge role in the RB, iit could easily be argued the D won that game for us.
On Tua, it was injuries that dropped him, they said. One guy even said a Covid season might even be a blessing for the kid, giving him another year to heal.
(JH #5 to Miami, Tua to Chargers, btw.)
