Ducks vs. UCLA

The No. 13 Ducks (3-1) host the No. 21 Bruins (4-0) in a Pac, excuse be B1G at Autzen with kickoff at 12:30 p.m. PST on CBS.

Weather: Partly sunny and mid to upper 50s, a perfect crisp fall football day in my opinion. With UCLA's key strength being there run game I rather not see a run game. I'm expecting Dylan to light it up again today.

Key Matchup: Oregon's Pass vs. UCLA's Run
The game features a clash between Oregon's high-powered passing attack, averaging 346.5 yards per game, and UCLA's nation-leading rushing offense, which averages 281.5 yards per game. Oregon's defense ranks No. 1 nationally in third-down conversion defense (allowing only 21.2%), while UCLA's defense is strong against the run but susceptible to the pass.

Quarterback Situation:
Dylan Raiola will make his first start after completing 30 of 36 passes for 413 yards and five touchdowns with zero interceptions in two games. UCLA relies on quarterback Nico Iamaleava and running back Wayne Knight to control the clock.

Betting Odds and Prediction:
Oregon is favored by 11.5 points, with the over/under set at 59.5 points. Most analysts predict an Oregon victory, citing their ability to exploit UCLA's aggressive secondary through the air while containing Knight's ground game.

Oregon Ducks Injuries:

Out: WR Jeremiah McClellan (broken foot), RB Simeon Price, LB Brayden Platt, OL Trent Ferguson (season-ending knee injury), WR Jack Ressler, and S Aaron Flowers (downgraded from doubtful to out on Friday).
Questionable: CB Aaron Scott Jr.
Probable/Returning: WR Jalen Lott is cleared to play after recovering from a broken hand.

UCLA Bruins Injuries:

Out: WR Mikey Matthews, WR Jonah Smith, and OL Sam Yoon remain sidelined.
Doubtful: DB Ashton Sanders is listed as doubtful heading into the game.

Both teams are coming off a bye and this should be a good game. Go Ducks!!!

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

Man the Ducks are doing one thing well, which seemingly is the number one X factor in shutting down UCLA's run. Allowing 10 points is not bad at all. And let's be honest the Ducks touchdown and what should have been 7 points was a defense score getting the ball at the 1.

On the flip side the offense looks horrendous. Dylan isn't playing well and I don't think Dante would be playing well either with all the pressure. The run is getting stuffed to. Oh, and I almost forgot all the penalties. Unfortunately the sloppiness of  all this reminds me of the Oklahoma State loss.

Re: Ducks vs. UCLA

Simply outcoached today. Earlier when I wrote the game preview I said that I was glad this was a home game after looking at UCLA. Part of that was because I thought UCLA looked good, but I didn't want to say that it crossed my mind that the Ducks have not been a good bye week team, which is a sign of coaching. You can point the fingers at a lot of things and one things that stands out is it's a shame we went for 2 with no reason. You do this when you have a Chip Kelly offense that can put up points on anyone.

Hat's off to Bob Chesney and UCLA. It's not something to feel good about, but I was afraid the Ducks might lose 3-4 and be in a position of bringing back Drew for one more year. This game makes it seem that much more unlikely while I still hope for some type of miracle that the O-line and offense can come to life.

Speaking of the O-line that's a whole different rabbit whole to go down. These guys and big, athletic, highly rated, and not true freshman so you have to ask this this all on coaching at this point?

So many more concernse and questions.
