I know there are a lot of anti-Canzano people and I come and go as one myself. However while I tend to ignore his opinion columns(except when he rips Larry Scott), I do read his podcast column(and sometimes listen to the podcast itself) primarily because he has a wide range of guests.
In this case, with an admittted overwhelming bias, I AGREE 100%...protect the schedules of Oregon and USC...please do not have them play each other in the ONE regular season crossover game.
The Pac-12 is already viewed as having an outside chance at being in the playoffs so don't have your 2 best teams (on paper and program recognition) play each other unless it is for the conference championship.
I also agree with the idea of Oregon playing either Utah or ASU in the crossover game as the potential for the Ducks to have a "quality win."
Anyone who thinks what happened with Nebraska's schedule in the BIG was an accident is living in a fantasy world. Schedule manipulation in college football 2020 is a reality. Hopefully the Pac-12 with the latest start of the Power 5 Conferences and fewest games will use that to every possible advantage.
