The Ducks are a very bad football team.

This looks like a replay of last week...Moorhead calls a bunch of creative first-half plays which have some success and then shuts it all down in the second half and runs the ball up the middle while Shough twists in the wind.

Can we have a different 2nd half OC?

This happened a lot last year too. I wonder if Mario has some influence in going all conservative 2nd half.

Re: vs. Cal Game Chat

I miss Arroyo. We won games. Lesshead can go back to the SEC. He has a handful of creative plays(first-half only) then shuts it all down in the second half.

Oregon is averaging less than a TD a quarter over the last 6 quarters against two teams with a combined 1-5 record going into the games.

Arroyo got reamed when Oregon WON games. Lesshead appears to be a feel good hire who looks like a genius when there is no pressure.

Also time to let Brown play QB.

Last year Arroyo had the best QB in football and was hardly able to utilize him in the 2nd half. Arroyo also had about the best and most experienced O-line. Besides that the defense was way better. Moorhead is certainly deserving of criticism, but I can't imagine Arroyo doing any better with this offense.

Re: vs. Cal Game Chat

Shough is awful -the play calling is awful-the D only plays every other play--Im out for this year, Oregon is terrible.

Except all the post-Arroyo / now we have Moorhead hype was how it would be different.

Yeah so Moorhead has Shough run more than Arroyo did Herbert...and that has made the offense better how?

My perception is what Moorhead is doing with Shough is exactly why Arroyo didn't run Herbert more...Shough takes all these first half hits and then "doesn't look the same in the second half."

I don't think Arroyo under utilized Herbert...I think he utilized him very well...kept him upright and minimized him getting hit.

I don't think Moorhead has ever had this much talent to work with so he doesn't know what to do. I mean you cannot call a jet sweep or double reverse with all the speed at the WR position and instead run a hobbled CJ Verdell up the middle?

These OC's are a dime-a-dozen...they all have "innovative offenses" and "dynamic play calling" BUT only a very few know how to make it work in crunch time or adjust to changes made by the opposing DC... multi-millionaire Joe Moorhead hasn't impressed me at all in that context.

Wow! I thought I was disappointed with the loss. Sheesh!

New O coordinator, new O line, new QB, loss of Troy, Jevon, Brady, and Thomas on D. Ducks still have a chance to win the North, and possibly the conference...right?

Yep...we lost a lot. I think what is so disappointing for me is that we did look pretty good for 3 games, and the O did score 38 against the beavs, but the D suffered, and now the D shows up, and the O disappears...head-shaking for me, but if Ducks beat Huskies, the North is ours...

Sorry but "new" is simply not an excuse for me.

Last season Cristobal / Arroyo were cricized after after EVERY game...win or lose... mainstream media, message boards and websites at how Herbert was being used...even when lapses in defense cost Oregon in the Auburn and ASU games.

So if I am one who is critical with losses so be it. I would rather be in that camp than those who find any and every reason for fault in winning!

I may be wrong but you seem like someone who would be critical whether it's a win or a loss.
