sports websites

Good morning:  I'm looking for thoughts on what is the best website for all things Ducks.  My 247 subscription just ended, and I have two months to go with The Athletic.  I won't be paying any of the fish wraps to subscribe, so what is the best one stop shop for Duck news?
Thanks!!

Re: sports websites

Perhaps a little semantics here...is your preference more "news" or "analysis?"

A very important criteria for me is ACCESS...can coaches, players and AD be interviewed / "covered?"

My dislike for fanboy websites like FishDuck is rooted in the lack of access coupled with amateur writers and an arrogant owner of the site.

Anyone without acccess can write about a sports program. Canzano is polarizing for sure but he gets Cristobal on his podcast as one example.

GoDucks albeit a homer website is good...I think.

OLive is still really good in my opinion as they also show a ton of photos... way more than the RG.

This site is pretty good...

Finally, I just stumbled across this podcast the other day which is new...

Good luck!

Re: sports websites

R-G scrip is worth the prox $8 per month, IMO. Thorburn is a capable writer with a clear eye who will point out the Ducks's shortcomings as well as their successes. they cover UO hard because it's the only game in town; the other staff writers are pretty good.
I just let my scrip to The Athletic lapse. they offer good coverage of UO, UW, and national news, but there's just not enough going on this year to warrant the $60 renewal. maybe I'll re-up come Sept.
not gonna pay to subscribe to The O. Goe is gone. Nemec does an outstanding job on the recruiting beat, but his content is accessible on Twitter and elsewhere. maybe if the Fent-man returns to the UO beat I'll pungle up.

bad scene for OS last night. team made some progress this year, although 2-5 won't look good in the record books.
but the windows are now open for 2021 season football ticket renewals . . . just got an email and text message from UO AD this week. so OS fans thinking about next year got to watch on TV while their team played bad football in a dark and rainy stadium until damn near 11 p.m. that's gonna be a hard sell.

Re: sports websites

I used to have an RG subscription but every month I had technical problems accessing the content. After too many emails and phone calls I opted out.

As per OLive...I only use their app via my mobile phone and only look at "Sports > Ducks" and I have never paid a penny!

Occasionally I wander over to the Beavers section but since I didn't grow up in Portland or ever lived there, I am not interested in any other news on the site.

I let my subscription to The Athletic end as well. I’m a bit disappointed that Fentress is gone from there and we only have writer.

I plan to just wait until the Athletic runs another special for a subscription for $1-2 for the year and resubscribe then.
