I heard a rumor today and it was on the Internet. Therefore, it must be true.
Tua Tagovailoa will not be returning to Alabama but will enter the transfer portal instead. Oregon is said to be one of the four contenders for his services. Others included Florida (if memory serves me), LSU and USC. I have pretty strong feelings about going with the guys we already have - they have the potential to be stars and you want them to develop - but how do you NOT say yes if the Ducks could get him to Eugene? That could be the final piece to a NC, if the new OC will allow them to open it up a bit. Although it is still a bit far-fetched, what are your thoughts?

Also, fun fact...his real name is Tuanigamanuolepola Tagovailoa. But it seemed a bit much, so...

I agree with you. I’d really like T Shough to win the position battle, but I always pull for a braddah from the 808.

I'm a big believer in loyalty. Unless Tyler really isn't that good, my feeling is we have a solid group in the QB room. As much as I wish MH had offered Tua and brought him here, to me, that ship has sailed.
It surprises me if that's true. Wonder if Tua and his family feel not enough concern is being shown them by Bama?
No way I'm going to try spelling his first name

I'm not sure there's any disloyalty when a coach brings in a player who can take them to the next level. College athletes understand they are there to compete. If they're good enough, they play. If not, they sit. (This is one reason I think the transfer portal is a great move and I don't believe it's disloyal for a player to move on if he's given it his all and still come up short.)
All that being said, I do like the idea of developing young talent if you really believe in them. Taking a one and done player has a high ceiling for the season but it may not be the best long-term move. And with 3 high-rated recruits, chances are they get a guy who's Tua-like. I'd probably pass too, but for the reason I stated. And btw, here's the Twitter post I referred to.

My gut instinct is to pass on him if there is truth to the rumor. As MC has stated, this program is just getting started and IMO this kind of move has a higher risk/reward than a normal x-fer based on a number of factors. I think it best for him to stay at 'Bama if he really wants to play another year, don't think anyone else on that roster is a real challenge to his spot anyway...

Well, Coach Cristobal won’t need to worry about it now...
"With lots of prayers, thoughts and guidance I have decided that I will enter the 2020 NFL draft," Tagovailoa said Monday.

That's shocking. Twitter never lies!
