I was reading about Covid vaccine rates and protocols with the SEC and want to know what's going on with the Ducks and the Pac?
The season is fast approaching and it looks like the SEC made their policy a while back to loosen testing and safety protocols when 85% of a team is vaccinated. I haven't heard a thing with the Ducks or what's going on in the Pac? Hopefully we'll at least get some info for the upcoming Pac-12 media day on July 27th.
George Kliavkoff needs to get up to speed and stop the recent trend of the conference not being able to figure anything out and communicate. We were last to release the schedule this year and last season at a major disadvantage by deciding to play the season at the last minute and starting so late.
Considering how secretive the Ducks are I wouldn't expect Mario to give a vaccination rate. Some teams across the country are disclosing the numbers or at least giving a ballpark figure. The thought crossed my mind that the University is requiring vaccines, but after reading the policy exceptions that are honored for a number of reasons including philosophical I would think any player could presumably get an exception.
The vaccine is much for than football, which I'm not trying to start a discussion on. Sankey did address the matter and give a good quote reguarding the impact on society in the article I linked. Even if you have doubts about the vaccine I would at least think nearly everyone would agree that having a high percentage of players vaccinated is a competitive advantage. The SEC seems to get this and made the policy early and accordingly. I'm bringing this up to ask what's going on and why the Pac isn't communicating I'm seemenly not seeing much on the topic for the Ducks and the rest of the conference?

I think Mario probably spelled it out clearly and maturely.i think he probably coaxed voluntary buy-in, and I imagine the team has a high vaccination rate. Jags report tomorrow. Nine days of camp with only three of those in pads. Helmets only, then shells, then pads. Then they play a preseason game.
Damn, football is so different than it was even five years ago. These college ahletes and pros stay in shape and go play quickly. We will be back at the games before we know it!
