No idea what the thinking of either kid was at the time: I won't be surprised to see them gone.

So stupid! How could they have thought that was okay. smh

Damn. Mario won't have this. We will need steve Stephens to ball out. Some good young corners in the pipeline. Paging Manning...

ah, the undeveloped 20-year-old male brain. I remember it well, sorta.
I suspect they'll transfer and suit up this year at Oklahoma, Miss St, K State, or a similar program. don't think anybody in the Pac-12 would take them.
maybe they can cut TV mershes for the local shooting range and score some NIL coin.

Mario did mention both, and they are currently suspended from the team. No mention if that also means school. We shall see how it goes.
Edit: new info.

Suspended indefinitely most likely means a 100% pause on football for these guys allowing due process to start unfolding. Doubt these guys see the inside of the locker room again, much less anything team related, until the legal process plays out. My guess is that they have played their last downs as Ducks and next man is up...

two misdemeanors & and a violation of civic ordinance. plead it down, pay a fine, and do 50 hours of community service . . . preferably at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. might be a path back to football for these guys by mid-October sometime.
not sure they could transfer in time to enroll at another school, or to escape whatever court-meted punishment tethers them to Eugene. we'll see in a coupla weeks.
I recollect some b-ball players at the end of the Ernie era shooting at ducks in a local park with a b-b gun; Dunigan, Crittle, one or two others. looks like their names have been scrubbed from the historical rosters on goducks.com.
maybe there's some kind of fungus or mold lingering in the athletic dorms that attacks the reasoning part of the brain?

Think MC will set a steep uphill path to getting back on the practice field and maybe in a game later this season... When you have 4/5* recruits already practicing in a new system and earning game experience, I am not sure that you disrupt the growth of the guys doing it right to accommodate the guys who are not terribly dependable to do the right thing. My guess is these guys eventually practice and maybe get some action on ST, but their transfers are most likely to come.

It feels like the longer it takes for MC to make a decision, the more favorable it is for them to remain on the team.
I am not saying that is good or bad, but if their behavior was so egregious (assaulting women as one example) then they would have already been dismissed.
Plenty of situations where a head coach doesn't need to wait for the legal system to do its thing.
The fact MC is still, apparently, reviewing the matter leads me to believe they will be given the opportunity to earn their way back onto the team... whether they choose to accept those conditions is of course up to them.

They will miss the Fresno game, but are reinstated to the team...TBH, I am disappointed..pointing a weapon at people is stupid, but what if someone carrying concealed had returned fire..hard to tell a real weapon from an airsoft in the dark. just my two cents.

I was mistaken in that I thought MC ran a tight ship when it comes to player conduct. I thought they'd at least be out several games. The outcome wouldn't surprise me on other teams it's just that I thought MC was different.
I believe in earned 2nd chances so I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to play football again. It just seems serious enough to me to only miss 1 game against a cupcake team.
I have to ask if the outcome might have been different for players that don't start? The tolerance for conduct issues in football often seem to correlate with how good a player is.

MC has always given me the impression as a man of details in everything about how he does his job.
However this situation is so void of details from him, I am more confused than anything else.
To date after nearly a month since the original incident, he has provided 3 details...
+Both players were suspended
+Both players are back practicing
+Both players will not see action against Fresno State
That is not the transparent MC he has projected himself to be.
