Duck News -- Where do you get it?

Oregon Live has shut me down completely and since I don't live in Oregon and would rather not hear about Oregon politics I don't want to pay $100 / year.

I get news here: https://duckswire.usatoday.com/

Here: https://247sports.com/college/oregon/

Any other good sources, especially free ones?  On a budget for the time being.

Re: Duck News -- Where do you get it?

I use the same sources you mentioned too.

Bleacher report list other articles. https://bleacherreport.com/oregon-ducks-football

The Register-Guard straight out of Eugene is pay, but has cheap sales to start a membership. It looks like they got a 1$ for 6 months right now.

I don't know if you're in to listening to podcast? Andrew Nemec puts out great recruiting podcast on 1080 the fan. https://www.audacy.com/1080thefan/podcasts/recruiting-with-andrew-nemec-20364

Same with YouTubers. I'll watch SportsChat503. He does a lot of interviews with players and will also sometimes do a show with an opposing teams YouTuber. https://www.youtube.com/c/SportsChat503

Re: Duck News -- Where do you get it?

There are many "rewrites" out there posing as "sources" i.e. Zachary Neel of Duckwire and Jared Mack of 247 Sports both "wrote" articles on the Duck uniforms. These people just pluck information off the internet and rewrite it.

I prefer mainstream media over fan boy websites.

As per your issues...

1) I have never subscribed to OLive; read their "free" articles daily and never been locked out. I do so on my mobile phone vs a computer if that makes a difference.

2) Speaking of, OLive has its own app and another app specific to Duck Football (one for basketball too)...all free...I use the apps all the time vs going to the website itself and never have any lockout issues.

3) Otherwise I like Go Ducks(app for that too)...a little homer journalism by Rob Moseley formerly of the Register Guard who now works for the UO Athletic Department...but he has daily practice reports that NOBODY else in mainstream media or fan boy websites can provide.

4) I subscribed to the Register Guard for a dollar a month for the first 6 months which will get me through basketball season at which time I will cancel and hope for the same deal starting next September!😁🙏

Hope this helps.

Re: Duck News -- Where do you get it?

The Yahoo Sports app lets you bypass some of the OLive walls.
I’m on an iPhone, so not sure if it’s the same for android phones.

Re: Duck News -- Where do you get it?

Bleacher Report for the most part...  I just do not have the time like I used to have to keep on top of the team, so I hunt and peck on the free articles where available when I can and try to avoid the fanboy articles as well...

I follow the Oregonian’s Facebook pages (the main one and another dedicated to football) and read their articles for free.  https://www.facebook.com/DucksNews/
