Re: 5 takeaways from the game

The biggest takeaway from the last 3 games is that the team is a train wreck in progress.
One can see that every aspect of the team is under performing and frankly is not very entertaining to watch.
Out of the 85 or so players on the team you could probably find 9 or 10 that are playing well but not all that consistent.
The play calling is not good and on the field judgement is dismal.
Im afraid that Mario and company are the new Clay Helton and USC --its a shame with all these 4and 5 star recruits.

Despite all of that, I feel the Ducks actually won this game in another timeline. One in which the refs didn't majorly affect the outcome with 3 highly questionable calls against the Ducks and ignoring Stanford infractions. I remember a few years back Stanford coming in and stealing a game from the Ducks at Autzen on national TV.  Mystery calls that definitely aided the Cardinal. At the time i said in the comments section of OLive that the refs disrespected the Oregon program. I basically said that we, the fans and the public are "being played" when this sort of rigging goes on. I'm not a conspiracy analyst. My eyes and gut instinct tells me what's going on...and i got a disturbed feeling yesterday at the end of regulation that carried on into OT.

Hyperbole much?

You have some points but the fans of at least 90% of FBS teams would trade for our "train wreck" in a heartbeat.

And leaving 2020 out of it because of covid, Mario's worst record in his 3 years in charge is 9-4, best is 12-2, and he has 2 bowl wins in those three years, including a Rose Bowl.  Clay's worst was 5-7, also had an 8-5, his best was 11-3, and he only had one bowl win, with a mostly inherited team.

When Mario starts stringing together multiple seasons with 5 losses or more, then we can make that comparison.
