Re: Pittman no longer with the team

He deleted a "So disrespected" tweet following the WSU game in which he played in but was not targeted.

I do think Brown's poor passing skills on deep and sideline throws hurts a talent like Pittman.

Re: Pittman no longer with the team

Wow, it's just really surprising to lose a starter to transfer when you're talking about the 3rd ranked team in the nation with a chance to go to the playoffs.

I fully expected he would be a major target this year and that certainly hasn't panned out. I agree with DR that AB's lack of accuracy hurts a player like Pittman. AB is roommates with Devon Williams and I wonder if Pittman feels like he's playing favorites.

His choice to leave, but why not wait till the seasons over?

Will some coaches start having to worry about keeping good players involved just to keep them from transfering? MC doesn't seem like a coach that would bend over backwards to keep a player happy and not transfer.

Phil...I agree. Oregon has only "big games" remaining and the potential to be in the national spotlight. Plus an injury or two could instantly make him the primary WR.

Also he can't go anywhere and play immediately either.

If we assume he has some responsibility for his lack of playing time but look back at his timeline at Oregon...came when JH was the QB...so now third QB in as many seasons... including back to back seasons with inconsistent QB play including rare deep passes attempted.

You can only go so long with the WR motto: You don't get the rock unless you block...when you have a QB who beyond 10-yards cannot deliver the rock consistently.

He has had his share of injuries over his career, but I would agree that it's been a tough year for wide outs given ABs inconsistency. Still, like you say, why not wait till the end. DR mentions the possibility he could become a target with injurys to others, which is certainly true, but I suspect he has "friends" and family in his ear telling him nows the time. U$C has a need for players, as they have had several decommits, so maybe he heads there. Wish him well and next man up!

Too bad.  He's very, very talented.  The cupboard is hardly bare, of course.

I agree with those who say the QB situation is part of the problem.  If you are going to fill up the receiver room with 4 & 5 star recruits, you need to be passing the ball enough to have them involved.  Pittman is very possibly an NFL talent who wasn't getting the ball.  It's hard to blame him.

Any good coach is going to play the best players available and not risk losing a game or the locker room by equalizing playing time by how many stars they had coming out if HS.  Some players peak in HS and do not get better in college, kinda like we saw with Cam Colvin a few moons ago.  Also why a guy like Ryan Walk is starting over that kid who just left the team last month.

MC knows players better than he knows plays.  He is a solid and clear communicator by all accounts and I have to believe that a guy like Pittman knows exactly why he is not getting the same touches as the other guys in the room…
