Re: Another O line decommit

At the end of the day, this team has sleepwalked its way to a 9-2 record with one major splash of beating Ohio State at the Shoe.  There is no energy, enthusiasm or excitement on either side of the ball.  It is a collection of very talented athletes going thru the motions of playing football under a “process.”  Last time we saw this was not long ago under Helfrich, who was also stubbornly loyal to his own process.

Whereas Helf was n X&O genius who could not recruit or lead a program, MC is a recruiting genius who cannot seemingly scheme his way out of a paper bag even if allowed to make adjustments to the plan.  I think recruits and players and coaches all see this.  Remember that MC has been fired before.  While I know he has a ton more experience today, it still seems that he has not overcome or is facing up to his blind spots.

I’ll take MC still as the HC as I think he has the capacity to evolve as a CEO instead of a micromanaging busybody.  He is a very good man and that means quite a bit these days…

Agree about keeping MC, and truth is, if he continues to recruit at this level, eventually talent will over come a lot of his other faults.
I was thinking of Helfrich after the debacle at the end of the first half. It was at Nebraska, closing in on halftime..and Nebraska punted, we had the ball deep in our end, and less than two minutes to go. Instead of running the ball, Prukop keeps and runs out of bounds, we miss two passes, punt, and they come down the field and get a TD right before the half.
