I don't believe your record compared to injuries should have any factor in the COY award and thankfully those voting would probably agree.

No team took a bigger hit than WSU losing its head coach and 4 assistants in mid-season; then had to basically hire some coaches off the streets.

I am sure those other schools probably think, "Well if anyone has the facilities to rehab injuries quickly it is Oregon and if they have so many injuries maybe their conditioning program and practices are to blame."

To win COY requires(I am guessing) looking at a range of criteria which doesn't include injuries and nor should it.
