How long will it take MC to turn the football program around at Miami, if it can be done. I did some research on the Hurricanes football history. They won five National Championships during their heyday back in the 80's and 90's.
From 1984-1988 Jimmy Johnson was the coach. In five seasons his record was 52-9, .852 winning percentage. From 1989-1994 Dennis Erickson spent six seasons with a 63-9 record, .875%. Johnson won the NC in 1987 at the Orange Bowl. Erickson won it twice for the Hurricanes, 1989's Sugar Bowl and 1991's Orange Bowl. I went back 16 years to the time Miami's football program started to flounder. Here are the results:
2006 7-6
2007 5-7
2008 7-6
2009 9-4
2010 7-6
2011 6-6
2012 7-5
2013 9-4
2014 6-7
2015 8-5
2016 9-4
2017 10-3
2018 7-6
2019 6-7
2020 8-3
2021 7-5*
This totals 118 wins, 84 defeats for a .584%. Miami has a bowl game to play on Friday, December 31st. Glad I looked because I forget their opponent...Washington State Cougars! MC has 1st hand info for this game. I will certainly tune in to watch it. So Ducks fans, how soon do you think it will take MC to turn this program around? Three, four, five years maybe and who do you want to win between the Hurricanes and the Cougars? Being a PAC-12 fan, I'll pull for WSU.

Just saw this on Twitter. Glad we have Moorhead for Alamo Bowl in case BMAC goes.

Yep.
Miami is now paying (4) ex head coaches?? 9 million to Oregon...8.5 million to Mario...I'm sure he'll do great at recruiting..we'll see what happens on game day.

To be expected I guess. Would love to keep Bmac and Feld..Wilson seemed to do pretty good with the "backers', and we have a good RB group...oh well...

Maybe Wilson will be Nevadas HC...

I'll be rooting for WSU too. I was never a Miami fan anyway. They didn't treat Diaz very well on the way out, I don't blame Mario for that as some have.
I would think it would at least take 2-3 years for Miami to do anything. I don't think they'll be a playoff team unless Mario evelves and gives a talented OC room to work.

I would hope McClendon would honor his "interim promotion" and coach in the game. Professionalism 101.
Otherwise, honestly except for Wilson, I am not overwhelmingly excited about retaining any of them.
Mastro can take the Pistol to Miami.
Our WR seemed to have difficulty all season getting separation...NOW without question some of the blame is on Anthony Brown's erratic passing skills.
With all our injuries at some point it is more than just bad luck...I started to wonder if Feld's approach was part of the problem? I would like to see a refresh with the S&C program.
