In the "be careful what you ask for" category... after decades of the NCAA being ridiculed from every angle...we now have the NIL completely free of NCAA oversight and if you believe Jon Wilner in this column, it is now a major concern on its impact...more so it seems than the more discussed Transfer Portal.

1. I really, really appreciate the articles you bring to this forum.
2. Wilner is consistently superb.
3. Anyone claiming to be surprised by the problems with NIL is either lying or wasn't using the brains they were born with. This was obviously going to happen.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Finding Wilner NOT behind a paywall was pure luck...I was "Googling around" and stumbled upon this Salt Lake City website that posts his column with free access.
I have my own opinions of course but a key part of my approach is link sharing with opinions based on what someone else has written. I stay clear of Duck fan websites because it is amateur writing with an agenda in my opinion plus it is usually void of...
The most important word for me is ACCESS...if you have access to what you are writing about then I will most likely read what you have to write or listen to what you have to say. That is why Canzano doesn't bother me...I didn't like / agree with the majority of what he wrote at OLive(his style was more irritating to me than his opinions) but his podcast reflected access to people many others don't have(Mullens, Cristobal, Jonathan Smith, etc).
In the case of Wilner, who has more access to the Pac-12 as a whole than he does? That is why his stuff is so good...in my opinion. In fact, Wilner is a FREQUENT guest on Canzano's podcast!?!...3 times in the month of March! He is as good a listen as he is to read.

I think Wilner has great access, though, >because< he is respected / trusted. If he weren't providing news/info with class and respect to both his interviewees and his readers, he wouldn't get as much access as he gets, I'm sure.
Neither you nor I think much of Zachary Neel's writing, but I have to give him credit for doing some work. This interview with Ty Thompson is a really good one for a young guy just getting going.
And this one was really good work, too.
So, credit where due.
