It is a little refreshing to see a different viewpoint expressed about Cristobal's abilities vs the "rising star" perspective he is usually afforded.
I can't criticize a guy for "going home" so I don't buy into the questioning of his decision to leave Oregon for Miami but the other issues raised in the article have merit.

The Oregon job is a better job and MC is a great recruiter. Think we can all agree on that. I think Miami has bet the farm on MC and that it is a longshot at best that he can win a NC much less an ACC title in the next five years. While I am not much of a fan of his anymore, I also do not see him as a villian in the sense that I view Slick Willie...

a group of Cane boosters has promised to step up and fund upgrades to the stadium, the facilities, NIL compensation, etc. if they deliver, and make Miami more like Oregon, then I think Mario will be successful. I'm personally rooting for him. I very much enjoyed that last Rose Bowl.
both Cristobal and Helfrich were condemned for not recruiting & developing successor QBs, but with Marcus and then Justin in-place, that became a more difficult task. the difference-makers expect to show up and start before they register for their first class or move into their dorm room. Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields. this is how the game is played now.

I have no beef with MC. He brought in a new mindset regarding recruiting, as well as a lot of talent, and left for home, so no problem there imo. I do think he had reached his ceiling here. I'm done with him, and totally bought into the new staff. Go Ducks!

They were rightfully condemned. Helfraud took over a Cadillac and in 4-years it was a Dodge Colt. Setting aside the QB issue, he significantly damaged the entire program leading to the worst year in Oregon football in 25-years.
And recruiting? I am supposed to believe with all the hype and reputation of the Oregon program; high octane offense; a Heisman Trophy winner, etc it was too difficult to recruit and develop ONE QB to take over for Mariota??? There wasn't ONE great high school QB in America who wanted to come to Oregon???
Cristobal on the other hand recruited talent but then suffocated them with his "process."
He won a Rose Bowl largely with players he INHERITED and then after 4-years with the "great" players he RECRUITED; he left before they played and lost in the Alamo Bowl.
Rose Bowl to Alamo Bowl.
He clearly has MAJOR coaching blind spots with his 1950's approach to offense in football. Rightfully condemned.
I will always believe Mariota made Helfraud look better than reality and ditto with Herbert making Cristobal look better than reality. Once those QB's were gone Helfraud and Cristobal were exposed for their incompetent head coaching skill set.

Currently the Alamo Bowl is the second highest payout, and the highest for the PAC-12, except for the NY6 bowls. My fave was always the Holiday Bowl, after the Rose of course.
I prefer to look ahead, and I like what I'm seeing. The proof will come when the games are played. I think it's going to be a good season.

MC's work ethic is something positive I can say. That's what led to so many great recruiting classes. He left an improved image of Eugene being that you can recruit top talent here, which was disputed in the past.
I wish he could've coached better too, but at least he got a Rose Bowl. I'm with DR as far as how he coaches and manages games.
He gets to be home and close to family now and I thinks it's best for everyone that he left. He's missing out on a lot leaving, but I do see an advantage of being so close to the best recruits in the country. Of course it probably won't be enough for a playoff type team unless he morphs his game strategy and let's good coordinators coach the way they know best.
