Interesting article...Ducks come in at #22 BUT ranked behind USC, uw, Stanford and UCLA.
Note: As the article outlines, this is not about a football ranking but a school ranking with variable criteria.

UCLA being ranked higher was the surprise for me. I thought the Ducks would be a lot more than 4 spots ahead in attendance.
Stanford and USC getting bumped up for academics is no surprise.
I didn't think USC would be so far ahead for attendance versus the Ducks though?
I'll even go as far as to defend little brother in that I didn't expect such a low academic rating. They do have some really good programs like agriculture and do some interesting research in the science fields. As an avid gardener and home brewer they do a lot of great research and are a great source of information. I offer no defense to their rude, jealous, and malcontent sports fans base!

1) Autzen is still a "small" stadium relatively speaking i.e.vs the Coliseum and Rose Bowl.
2) While it wasn't immediate, "Mario ball" killed the buzz at Autzen and crumbled the once proud home field advantage the Ducks enjoyed.
3) I have tempered expectations with a defensive oriented head coach with no such experience and an OC whose offense at FSU ranked in the bottom third of the ACC all while 52 of 56 Oregon TD's last season were from players no longer with the team.
