I think we have our answer as to why Ty hasn't seen the field much. Mario benched the 5* ACC rookie of the year QB in the 3rd quarter last week. Perhaps Ty wasn't and still isn't ready and has issues with the speed of the game.

I think it is an institutional issue. Oregon has all but declared itself a "we don't TRUST backup QB's" program regardless of the head coach.
Alabama lost it's Heisman winning QB in the second quarter yesterday against a RANKED Arkansas team and brought in a...RS freshman(last year he threw a total of 7 passes) to finish the game which they won.
As one article noted, "Alabama always has answers. Without Young it simply leaned into its running game."
It is all about COACHING...Nick Saban has done it; Lincoln Riley has done it; Ryan Day has done it; Dabo Swinney has done it...all played / started QB's with zero to limited game experience (true freshmen, RS freshmen, sophomores) and succeeded.
But Mighty Oregon is incapable of doing it...both coaching them up and finding ways to help them succeed. Pathetic coaching with Cristobal and now Lanning.

True, if Ty had gone to Alabama even on the bench he might be a heck of a lot better.
I don't know how you can write Lanning off as a pathetic coach at this point. As you pointed out Bo's stats were pretty bad coming into the season. Now the offense is doing better despite all the youth and people are talking about Bo being way better with the Ducks. I think the verdict on Lanning's ability to develop players will take a while to see. Ty might have been damaged from Mario's staff and it seems like Lanning is getting good production from players at this point.

Gotta give Lanning a pass on Ty: he didn't recruit him, and obviously he and Dilly saw a need to get a transfer once they had a chance to evaluate him. The speed of the game seems to be a little much for him right now. True, MC didn't do him any favors, but at least now that we are scoring points in bunches, he has been in more. Tough for a brand new staff to inherit kids that need developement when the goal is to win right now. None of the QBs that transferred from Oregon are tearing it up: Burmeister, Shough, and Ashford are all having various issues. Robby looks the best, but his passing is suspect. I like what Dan is doing here, and I think we got a good one, but it's still gonna take time. I'm hopeful Ty can get more PT and continue to get better, but I'm beginning to think he may never start for the Ducks.
