It's hard to digest how the Conference of Champions has become the Conference of Chumps in the blink of an eye.

Well, for a little levity, the one good thing out of all of this might be not having to hear Bill Walton say "Conference of Champions" every other sentence calling Bball games.

Yup, finally awake from football summer slumber.  It is just about football season isn't it?  Pac-1 right?  Damn it Jim, I'm just a Doctor, not a blathering college football league analyst!!

Football?? What football?

Re: Media rights deal Tuesday?

No surprise, money rules just about everything, but I still despise all the shenanigans.  No care or empathy for the fan, history, rivalry or tradition.  Club sports?  Who cares!  Money, money, money.  Scott led the Pac down a dark alley, and Kliavkoff hired the thugs waiting in the shadows to finish the job.  And they each walk away with millions for the effort.  Classic venture-capital purchase, rape, dismemberment and sale.

College football is becoming (or maybe already is?) nothing more than a junior league for the NFL.  Free agency (portal), hiring based on cash (NIL), with an impersonal fanbase based on subscription and clicks.  Maybe they thought all those cardboard cutouts of fans in the stands during Covid games were the start of something great.

The Duck Store can start selling T-shirts with "I sold the Pac-12 and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt" on them.
