The Waiting Game

Is it game time yet.....

I've been ready for a good minute. I originally thought the new playoff format would lead to a lot less waiting. While the bye is part of the issue it seems like things could've been speed up a little bit. At this point you worry about rust from not playing.

The Ducks are getting a lot of great motivating media. From the line of the game to most media members picking against them and today I saw the B1G coaches snubbed the defense from any 1st team honors. This is a all a much better situation than the media picking the Ducks to beat the huskies last year. Remember how everyone said how hard it is to beat an even team twice. Everyone has probably heard all the takes and ready for the game. I sure am.

I did see some good new news that everyone who had been banged up and missed some games were out practicing yesterday.

I'll just have to watch some NFL to pass the time I guess and try not to look at the clock. Go Ducks!!!

Re: The Waiting Game

Well, you could watch one of the Pop Tarts, Wasabi, or Bad Boy Mowers bowls. Too many bowls yet?!  I think so.

Waiting - move the Army/Navy game up a week to CCG week and get started with playoffs a week early.

Waiting - impatiently

Waiting - four days to go

GO DUCKS !!

Re: The Waiting Game

Used to be where college and pro football didn't overlap, those days are gone.  Nothing sacred anymore, so why not blow some things up to make this deal better?

Totally agree Army/Navy needs to move, but CCG week won't work as they are conference affiliated.  Rather see this played out on rivalry week (Thanksgiving weekend).

That said, the bowl system is obsolete with both the playoff, the portal and draft of highly rated players affecting the games.  And why a sponsor is underwriting games with stadiums not even 1/3 full is unreal.  The Ducks are not playing in the Granddaddy of Them All as the reward for winning the conference, they are playing a quarterfinal playoff game on a neutral field.

If the playoffs are to truly matter, these things have to happen:

* One week bye after CCG week for teams to recover and universities to prepare for the first round, games played every Friday/Saturday thru the semis.
* If 12 teams is the size of the field, the field is reseeded as necessary as lower seeded teams will win games.
* All playoff games outside of the NCG are played at the home field of the higher seed.

How many fans can afford to travel to all these neutral sites?  On short notice?  My guess is that the Semi-Final bowl games may not be 100% attended and the worst casualties of the system.  The NCG will be like the Super Bowl, no issues there in terms of filling seats.

Thinking way too much while waiting as well...

Re: The Waiting Game

JJ, you have my vote for your changes.

Watching Jeanty getting bottled up by a stingy Penn defense.

Still waiting …. under 20 hours to go ……

I agree with JJ’s changes.

Waiting has not gotten any easier in the pop tarts bowl did not hold me over lol!😂

Did the committee really think Boise State would’ve done better with Ohio State schedule?

I m away from my place with my GF. I have my Ducks t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, and hat. I forgot my new Ducks coffee mug. My thought being it would either be my new lucky mug, or I would launch it with a catapult into another state if they lost tomorrow!
