Ducks vs. JMU Game Chat

What a great day to be a Duck! I've been busy running errands and doing work around the house. Catching a few glimpses of Mario ball with only 1 field goal and it's the fourth quarter already. I mean they might win this, but thank goodness we have a team with an explosive offense.

The Oregon Ducks host the James Madison Dukes in the first-ever College Football Playoff game at Autzen Stadium between the No. 5 Ducks (11-1) and the No. 12 Dukes (12-1).

Oregon enters as a 20.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the game set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. local time.

For all the concern and talk of bad weather it looks like it's cloudy and in the mid-40's in Eugene today. This should help the Ducks in that JMU is going to have trouble covering Oregon's WR speed and on conversely their pass offense is ranked 94th despite playing against inferior competition.

The Ducks are favored due to their superior talent, size, and home-field advantage, with Oregon’s offense averaging 38.2 points per game and ranking fifth in the FBS for scoring margin.
James Madison, the Sun Belt champions, boasts a dominant defense ranked 10th in scoring defense (15.8 points per game) and second in rush defense (76.2 yards per game), but faces a significant challenge against Oregon’s potent ground attack and high-powered offense.
Oregon’s quarterback Dante Moore and running backs Noah Whittington, Jordon Davison, and Dierre Hill Jr. form a balanced and explosive backfield, while James Madison relies on dual-threat quarterback Alonza Barnett III and running back Wayne Knight, who has averaged 6.6 yards per carry and is fresh off a 212-yard performance in the Sun Belt title game.

Despite JMU’s strong defensive front, including Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Sahir West and Defensive Player of the Year Trent Hendrick, Oregon’s offensive line is a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, giving them a significant edge in the trenches.

Predictions from experts and analysts largely favor Oregon, with many projecting a decisive victory, though some acknowledge the possibility of a competitive first quarter before the Ducks pull away.

Latest breaking rumors on the injury front from CBS Sports Thamel is that Dak and Gary Bryant will be playing! Yesterday Evan Stewart was downgraded to doubtful, which means he won't play. To me this is great news overall. With the Ducks WR lineup playing so well and Evan not taking a single snap this year it may take him a while to get work the rust off anyway.

Go Ducks!!!

Good football day Duck Fans!

Dak and GB Jr are not on the injury list so they should be good to go. Just in time!  Weather sounds like it’s not going to be an issue. I’m ready for some football!

GO DUCKS !!

Ducks looking good but D Moore got picked off.
And I'm concerned about how much yardage JMU has on our D already with 1 quarter to go.

Dante really floated that one up there. This is why I’m glad the ducks are playing JMU right now. This looks like a first game of the season type game int that the Ducks are playing and inferior opponen. And yet winning by a lot and yet there’s a lot of room for improvement. I was almost thinking they would’ve put the backups in earlier and it’s the starters that have been making some mistakes.
