Most people seem to be viewing the schedule as difficult withe the Ducks bye coming early and another tough finish down the stretch.
SI did strength of schedule by first ranking the best schools (see the second link above). Oregon is ranked the 2nd best B1G team coming into the year. Their 4th overall for toughest schedule. Ohio State is considered to have the toughest schedule.
I just wish the bye was a little later and some of the travel looks less than ideal. Hopefully the new portal players will be able to rotate in a lot and start when inevitable injuries happen down the stretch.

That is a monster schedule. Outside of Portland State, there are no gimmes on the docket. Notes:
* With Michigan coming to town, I hope the fans give KW is nice reception.
* OkSt will look nothing like this past season.
* Ohio St on the road could get very ugly, especially in the dog days of the season and depth becomes an issue.
* But a lot comes down to taking care of business in LA on week four. $C has the #1 recruiting class and will be the dark horse favorite to win the conference. They looked very good last season and are only going to get better.

I agree with your USC take. If they can get better on defense they'll be real tough. Getting a win on the road at Ohio State is going to be tough sledding. My way too optimistic early predication is 1 loss although I could totally see 2 losses. It seems like a lot of this is going to come down to the new coordinators. At this point it's fair to have some concerns about the new coordinators. Perhaps if they can prove doubters wrong like KD did at OC going undefeated isn't off the table.
