Sometimes I think media outlets do this stuff just for "shock value" to get people to read. You can write that kind of stuff in the Pac-12 because no team has been dominant in recent years...so it is easy to "pick anyone." What I found missing in the article about Cal is they hired a new OC...so while the article highlights a 3 game winning streak to end the season(and they won 4 of their last 5)...it wasn't enough to prevent them from finishing DEAD LAST in the entire Pac-12 in both Scoring and Total Offense. Josh Wilcox is entering his 4th year as the head coach which basically means he has recruited almost the entire team...so IF they are going to be better, it should be starting this upcoming season.
