Matt Hayes from bleacher report does his radio show here in Jacksonville. He is very high on Luton. I doubt he makes the team. Marone loves Josh Dobbs, and Minshew will get every start this year.
Luton had a good senior season and has a live arm. I don't dislike OSU, so it's not like we picked up Eason or something like that. Almost sounds like a social disease. "I picked up Eason while on a trip to Seattle."

I'm surprised that the Jags--or any NFL team--took a chance on Luton, given his sixth-year-senior history of injuries. he broke a vertebra in his thoracic spine, and had a couple other significant injuries. one good hit from a rush end or linebacker and the doctors will tell him 'no more football'.
he also struggled w accuracy in college. biggest throw of his career--to convert 4th down v Wazzu and get the beavs to a bowl game--sailed over the head of his intended receiver. (I guess he could blame that on the arm or hand injury that caused him to sit out the Civil War the following week.)

I am guessing his height(6'6") as much as anything got him drafted.... maybe his age and experience as in 24-years old; 3 teams in 6-years yet mutiple injuries...certainly his stats and those of osu were okay but no "Wow" factor. He could not lead his team to wins at home(2-4). Since he did not play against Oregon...the other top rated Scoring Defenses in the Pac-12 were Utah(#1) and the uw(#3)and he could not lead the osu offense to even ONE TD in either of those games....against Utah, osu scored its only TD of the game in a 52-7 loss with Gebbia at QB and under a minute left in the game. Against the uw in a 19-7 loss the only osu TD was a pick-six. And those were both home games! And this was part of his "good senior season?!" If you ask me, the Jaguars contacted Orange Army for advice about drafting Luton! LOL

Great points by both of you. I see practice squad in his near future. The jags are in full rebuild, but it seems like a wasted pick. They had 12 in this draft! Wish they would have moved up for Herbert, but I like Minshew's game...
