governors of WA, OR, CA, NV, and CO are coordinating their 'reopening' over the next several months. that's nine Pac-12 schools plus the site of the P-12 Championship game. I don't expect to see any butts in seats for football in 2020.
question is what will happen w all the $$ already paid for season tics (I just dropped another heavy installment April 30; two more to go). I would expect a refund for the ticket price from the UO AD; if there's an option to let them keep my DAF contri to pay the athletes's tuition & expenses, I'd be good w that.
I'm still hopeful that there will be P-12 college football. it would require intensive testing--the whole team almost every day, I reckon, with instantaneous results. that's expensive, and would be hard to justify if there's a surge in demand for testing elsewhere, like a new outbreak or schools starting up again.
NFL pre-season starts mid-August. will be interesting to see how they do it.

Among many things, People need sports. Covid or no covid, this way of living cannot go on much longer. People are starting to crack a little already. Drawing a hard line and saying no spectators almost four months out is foolish. Buckeyes are coming to town, it would be nice to welcome them in the most legally hostile way imaginable. Go Ducks!

I’m cracking a lot!!!😂
I think there is a definite path to playing games this season, but it requires buy in at an enormous level from these “invincible” young men. I hope they can do it, Korean baseball ain’t my thing...

I agree completely. At least let things run their course before you go full throttle on the shutdown. It seems like she might have left some wiggle room in there, though, for a fan presence. Her phrasing is a bit vague...

I just think it's too early for her to make this call. Yeah, I can't see the coaches wanting to put kids at risk if this is still going on. wonder if all these lost games, if they really will be lost, can be made up. probably not.

I do agree with NCAA President Mark Emmert in that there have to be students on campuses if there is going to be sports. Athletes only on campuses so they can play sports would be ridiculous.

Yep I agree with that. we have to have the safety of the kids come first.

Butts in seats: It's hard to imagine how they'd pull it off. The Autzen shuttle alone would be an s-show - and that's if LTD and various school districts even agreed to participate.
As for season tickets, I want either a refund or the option to apply my payment to next year's tickets. Whatever happens, I don't expect them to make any announcements until after all or most of the payment deadlines have passed, LOL.
