Honestly, I had forgotten about every one of these players.
1) I do expect a more "active" decommit / transfer landscape with Cristobal because he is recruiting a higher level of player who are coveted by other schools and want to play ASAP. That is the price you pay for going after 4* and 5* players. How many other schools are trying to flip your 2* and 3* recruits? However it also works in reverse as you(Oregon) can also flip recruits and be attractive to transfers.
2) While I did not check every W-L record, did any player go to a school which had a better record than Oregon these past 2 seasons? Maybe Notre Dame?
3) Was surprised that 2 ended up in Corvallis!
4) The biggest losers (not as people) were those who followed WT to FSU.
Go Ducks!

Interesting write-up, remember a few of those names... My takeaways to the story and your comments:
1) Really shows the fickle nature of HS recruiting, coaches really not knowing what they have until the kid steps on campus and gets to work both on the field as well as the classroom.
2) Also reveals the nature of some helicopter parents who are reticent to let their kids fly the coop and deal with the nature of the "real world."
3) Recruiting the transfer portal is almost as important as recruiting the HS ranks anymore...
4) A coach can only go so far until the truth catches up to them. Taggart got away with a lot at the G5 level that did not fly at the P5 level. He was eventually exposed, spectacularly failed and was summarily humiliated in the process. That said, dude knows how to get paid...

Man, no kidding. Who knew failure could pay so well. He can recruit, but he sure can't coach.
