Canzano takes a lot of shots for being the messenger...some are justified but some are not.
In my opinion his relentless criticism of Scott is on target and this column is no exception.

Thanks for the post and the link, don't really get to O-Live too much anymore...
I am not a fan of using the cover of disasters and global misfortune to blow up or disrupt businesses and relationships, but in the case of the P12 I make an exception.
So if I understand correctly, the only people left standing and making a paycheck from the conference (that is generating zero revenue) are the chiefs, the indians all being let go.
Having this in mind, this is an opportune time to buy out the lot of these people and start from almost scratch when this pandemic is "over" and everyone returns to school and sports resume. The house is already cleaned out, so it is just a matter of re-hiring the good ones under new and improved leadership. Re-locate the HQ to a lower rent member city and set the compensation bar to match levels of the other P5 conferences.
Or am I missing something?

You have got it! Not missing anything. Perhaps you are a candidate for Canzano's podcast! :-) Those are his points...only these high salaried people remain, apparently. Ultimately Scott's bosses, the presidents and chancellors of each university need to make some decisions and I agree with what you wrote on the matter.
Online!
Yep, you guys on Canzano are correct.
The criticisms of Scott have been very valid. At this point I would've expected some more push back coming from various athletic departments on how the Pac-12 is being run.
I don't see how Scott can defend keeping the outrageous real estate HQ in San Francisco right now.

I don't think you missed anything JJ. Sounds good to me. Scott is overpaid and underworked, and the PAC needs new leadership.

Having sat and intently consumed Austin Peay and C. Arkansas, and reading about all these conferences still full-go at playing (and the B1G also looking to start in three months) and generating revenue, at what point do the university presidents of the conference vomit at the reality of the highest paid conference commissioner doing literally nothing while collecting a full paycheck?
Blow the mother f-er up and get some creative folks in there. I get the hesitancy of sitting out a pandemic, but if- just if- these other conferences are on to something and it works, this could set the conference back 10 years to when it was just the P10 being a joke.
I know this is not a universal thought considering risks and lives, but just throwing this out on a lazy Monday...

I'm seeing a lot more cases at colleges now students are returning; in some instances, students return and a week later the college sends them home. We shall see, but I doubt much football gets played by anybody this fall. As for LS, show him the door.

That was a very entertaining game! I watched it all. I am listening to these radio hosts in Florida discussing protocols, testing, and the SEC slate, and they genuinely believe these doctors have the right plan to play.
I really hope it doesn't set the PAC-12 back, but I just don't see how it can't. I will throw up in my mouth when LSU and Bama are playing and Scott continues his head-in-the-sand routine...

I do not think the conferences who still have intentions of playing are at any enormous advantage or that they will even offer "quality football." Georgia's expected starting QB just opted out today...he is not the first nor will he be the last player to do so. "Playing football" and "quality football" are not necessarily the same thing.
Interesting link to an article below about what happened at Auburn once students returned to campus.
Nor do I see any mass exodus of Pac-12 players to other schools...there has not been that type of knee jerk reactions so far. In fact the knee jerk reactions have been from the parents of the sleaziest college football program in the USA(the luckeyes) and players at Nebraska filing a lawsuit to name two examples. "Opt outs" are more probablle than transfers in my opinion.
Scott did not decide to cancel fall sports...that decision was made by his bosses at each school. However it does seem like the right time to buy out, terminate or do whatever it takes to get rid of Scott and start with a "new" Pac-12 while we are in this "pause" situation. That move could do more for the future of the Pac-12 than any ramifications of not playing sports for the next 4 months.
Actually I believe the Pac-12 positioned itself perfectly...now they are not scrambling around trying to figure out how many people should be in a stadium while offering a lesser quality product(does anyone really believe college football will be even close to the standard it is normally?) and all related issues.

I agree that Scott didn't make the call (neither did Warren, for that matter); the CEO group did. But I hear Greg Sankey talking reasonably and intelligently about leading a conference in a pandemic. He was on ESPN radio for two segments last week, and he explained why the SEC is playing very clearly. We get nothing from Scot. He is a poor leader, in my view.
Speculation on the radio here yesterday was that Newman was losing the camp battle to J.T. Daniels. They think he tried to maximize his draft stock.. There is a kid up there named Carson Beck who can really play! The QB room at GA is pretty stocked, but he is a big name to opt out, for sure...
