scrimmage and QB battle brewing

https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2020/10/defense-shines-in-oregon-ducks-first-fall-scrimmage.html

Sounds like the defense is ahead of the offense, which isn't surprising for things just getting going.

Jordon Scott is off to a good start and I read previously that he dropped weight and plans to pursue sacks and be more aggressive after listening to what scouts had to say. It's encouraging to hear nickel safety Jamal Hill is doing real well and should be a great replacement for Holland.

I'm really hoping one quarterback emerges as the clear favorite. So far that doesn't appear to be the case.

=14pxIt sounds the players really respect Shough and talk about his confidence. I'm still a little surprised a graduate transfer was perused this year, but I guess bringing an experienced QB is a plus. Brown didn't answer if you would stick with the team if he's not the starter. He said he's just taking it day by so it doesn't mean he's definitely leaving if he doesn't start.

Only 17 days until we see the starting QB play!

Re: scrimmage and QB battle brewing

I think Brown was brought in for the very reason highlighted in the article...game experience. Because after Shough there is none.

The situation is all the more interesting (or complicated?) by Moorhead arriving and not having recruited any of the QB's. What does he like in a QB?

I think it is Shough's job to lose. One thing is for certain...with 5 QB's on the roster and Ty Thompson on the way...not everyone will be staying with the program.
