Covid

I wonder how much Covid plays into the attitude of players? To me it seems that the Ducks are more latent in their reactions--just a thought .Maybe the season doesnt mean as much?

Think that when you cancel a season, give these guys a pass with an extra year eligibility, allow for players to opt out completely, send them home for distance learning and then flip the switch back to the “on” position with a short “camp,” no idea week to week if your game is a “go,” etc. purely for the conference to get a cash payout and players really getting bupkis (relatively speaking for the effort), it will impact every team different.  I think that crowning a national champion this season is almost worthless considering that all teams have some sort of arm tied behind their backs.  The P12 is terrible this season, and this is not on the coaches or players...

FWIW, I have taken in more OOC ball this year to get my fix, watching a family member play for the Hurricanes as well as following Liberty where my kid is studying at.  If anything, my enjoyment of the game in general had grown and my angst for Duck losses this season much marginalized...😎

I think this nails it...the PAC shut down completely, unlike the SEC or ACC, so hard to just "flip a switch" and get going: plus the Ducks are a very young team. I agree that FB is not as important to me this year, and I just hope all the players come out of this season with no issues related to this virus.

Re: Covid

I think the only excuse Oregon has in that regard is being a young team i.e. loss of entire OL, new QB, opt outs on defense, etc...yet even then they have had nearly their entire team available except for a handful in every game.

Plus they have played every game. Look at ASU...they have played ONE game! Now that is a Covid excuse / reason...not Oregon.

And if Cristobal cannot get a team motivated to win back to back Pac-12 Championships...regardless of how fractured the season is, a team IS going to be conference champions...then he needs to do an attitude check on the roster.
