So much for the spirit of competition:
“After selection day, if one of the four teams is unable to play because of Covid-19 concerns, that team would not be replaced, CFP executive director Bill Hancock told ESPN last month.”
I’m glad the PAC-12 didn’t subscribe to that.
I don’t see why the CFP committee won’t just adjust if given a weeks notice. It’s not like each team’s fans will be booking travel and accommodations to the games. Players want to play.

Yeah it seems like they should have alternates on notice.
Also remember the CFP is not the NCAA...the latter plays no role in selection of teams, format and so forth.

Ok. Then my gripe is towards the CFP.

It is an awkward dynamic as the NCAA still sets the rules i.e. recruiting, eligibility, etc. but there is no "NCAA Championship" in football. Instead it is a "National Championship."
