Game on! I'm excited to see what the Ducks can do today against a worthy opponent.
Go Ducks!

spread has moved over last two days to -5 1/2 or -6, and the moneyline on the Ducks is up to +190. lotta betting on the Cylcones. Ducks will need to bring their SC game and then some to compete today.
this is as much about next season as it is about the Fiesta Bowl. who wants to compete? what can Moorhead and Avalos conjure up?

I think the Ducks are about the last team I would bet on. They're certainly capable of winning today. If they bring their Cal performance things will get ugly real quick today.

I just saw CJ is definitely out. No disrupt to CJ, but I think the Ducks running game will depend more on play calling and the O-line going up against a really good run defense. The other 3 backs looked pretty good against USC. I'm interested in seeing more of Dollars.

I really liked the blocking on the Ducks drive

I’m on a bit of a delay... this game is looking like it’s going to be a highly competitive one, based on the first two drives.
Go Ducks!

It looks like a good matchup!
The story of Iowa States offense was about the Ducks not seeing the 3 giant TE sets. That's true this year, but it reminds of few years back at Stanford. Stanford was pretty effective when they were using 3 6'6" TE's that could box out.

Brown is looking good. I'm a bit surprised they went to him so quick.

He looks so much calmer than Shough.

Does anybody know why? Shough looked good, tho I don't mind Anthony. Ducks had a TD but Jones called for holding. Katleman looks damn good.

I was wondering if they didn't trust Shough taking over being backed up to the goal line then left Brown in after being successful? I don't think he's hurt or anything.
That holding call was so frustrating in addition to the kickoff blunder. The Ducks won't be able to come back and win if make anymore turnovers.
Yes, on Katleman! He didn't look the least bit rattled with the timeouts and the pressure. He has a nice looking kick too. The Ducks might be set for a long time with this year not even counting.

Too many TO’s. Ugh.

Would like to see more passion and focus from our young Ducks.

More turnovers, ugh.
The Iowa State strategy of kicking the ball to the 30 seemed puzzling to me. What do I know? 2 turnovers resulted.

Game Thougts:
Ducks fans are not surprised nor expected a win today.
Neither were Ducks fans real excited about this game. This is the first game this year that the game chat pretty much didn't happen. It's not surprising considering most fans didn't have a lot of hope for this game nor excited about a Covid bowl game this year.
Shough probably won't be the starter through next season even if he starts the opener. You have to wonder with Brown returning and the prospect of Ty Thompson coming in. Could Brown be a stopgap until Thompson takes over? Jay Butterfield could be in the mix too. Shough has an arm, but really hasn't improved his field vision or decision making this year.
Kevin Thibodeaux is the real deal. That being said he can't do it alone. The Ducks defensive unit will have to improve in a lot of aspects to be successful. In the NFL when J.J. Watt was winning defensive player of the year awards and had Clowney the team as a whole was actually pretty bad defensively. The Ducks won't be successful with just Thibodeaux and Sewell shining.
Sloppy turnovers can't continue. The Ducks started with a bunch of turnovers and finished with them. You might get by some Pac teams, you can't do this and win against good teams on the national level
