have always loved Big Play VA, and what he brought to Autzen for one year.
scroll through the UO record book and try to find a QB who beat UW, SC, and Trees in the same season; you can count 'em with one hand. knocking Furd out of the CFB Playoff down on The Farm was some sweet payback.

VA was a band-aid solution to a much larger problem: Mark Helfrich's incompentency as a head coach.
The further removed Helfrich was from Chip Kelly the worse the Oregon program became and the following year(2016) was thankfully Helfrich's last.
Unfortunately it did not come until in back to back seasons he decided to bring in graduate transfer QB's(Adams and Prukop) from the FCS level. Why?
Apparently even with the great reputation of Oregon's offense and in anticipating the departure of Mariota, Helfrich was unable to neither recruit an elite QB or coach up the QB's already the team.
Oregon went from a Heisman-winning QB to FCS QB's in succesive seasons. VA had a nice season but it was a bad sign for the Oregon program.

As the years go by, it's the memories that linger...like the throw VA made at ASU...That is never gonna fade
